Career Development Coaching

My capacity to be a Vermont-focused career development coach, building on many years of experience and a strong knowledge of Vermont’s most promising careers (as compiled by the McClure Foundation). Additionally, my experience and community connections help me to stay aware of a wide range of opportunities available to young people in our community. Combining my knowledge and experience, I provide individualized and supportive coaching to help students identify and pursue promising careers, whether or not they pursue higher education.

Resume and Cover Letter Development

Keeping a current resume and developing strong cover letters can help you capture attention early in a job search. I am comfortable offering feedback on these documents and helping you prepare to present your best foot forward in any job search.

Interview Prep

I have had many years of experience developing mock interview scenarios to prepare students for job or admissions interviews. Through proper preparation, you can head into your interviews feeling confident and well-prepared.

Gap Year Planning

The Gap Year has increasingly become a popular option for students seeking a growth opportunity before moving on to higher education. Several programs are available, including Verto, AmeriCorps, and Kroka. Each of these opportunities would provide young people with key skill development between graduating from high school and matriculating to college. I work with clients to identify their goals for a Gap Year and then seek reputable programs that meet those goals.

College Research and Application Support

Through 13 years of running the Success Program, teaching the Senior Application Workshop, and collaborating with the School Counseling Department at Burr and Burton, I have developed a strong grasp on the admissions process. I seek to support students at all phases of the process. From identifying colleges, completing the Common App and FAFSA, writing Personal Statements, and researching or applying for scholarships – I am able to provide individualized support all along the way.
