Meet Jason Pergament

Founder of Onward Rising | Executive Function Coach | Educator for 25+ Years

I’ve spent the last 25 years working with students from all walks of life—in the city, the countryside, and even the jungle. Whether I was teaching in Upper Manhattan, Silicon Valley, Belize, or the Green Mountains of Vermont, one thing remained true: the most meaningful learning happens when students feel supported, understood, and empowered.

I hold a degree in Human Development from Cornell and a Master’s in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. But more than anything, I’m known for my student-centered approach, my ability to connect, and my firm yet loving tone. I’ve always believed that accountability and compassion go hand in hand.

For 13 years, I founded and led the Success Program at Burr & Burton Academy, where I worked with the school’s most vulnerable students to help them grow into capable, confident young adults. We focused on building systems—not just improving grades.

That’s the heart behind Onward Rising.

Now, through the C.O.R.E. Confidence Program, I work with ADHD and neurodiverse high schoolers to help them build executive functioning skills that most schools don’t teach: time management, habit formation, resilience, and motivation.

This is more than tutoring—it’s coaching that transforms how students approach school and life.

Parents often come to me when their teen is overwhelmed, disorganized, or stuck. They leave with a student who’s more confident, more independent, and finally feels in control again.

If that’s the kind of growth you’re looking for, I’d love to connect.
